Are all drivers ignorant to road signs and law?

And we even have one professed stop street skipper I know of right here on the forum.

You get people that become oblivious of their surroundings when behind the steering of a vehicle, and this is not a new thing at all, in all the years I have been driving (Sh!t it's more than most of your ages :=): ), it has been prevalent.

This is how I see it, these kind of drivers have always been on the roads, all that is happening is that as the population grows, you have more of them on the roads (Every flippin taxi driver is one as well), and thus have become more noticeable.

The best is defensive driving, you must always be thinking for the other road users, If you look nicely you can spot these kind of Drivers on the roads even before you get to them, or they get to you, and make an evaluation as to any sh!t moves they can make, so if this happens, you already have a plan of action worked out.

@SP33DVY Yes she antagonized you by her driving and in a state of anger you chased after her, picked up your phone to take photos of her vehicle and while driving with one hand, concentrating on the camera view on the phone to get an accurate picture or two, and in this time your attention was also not fully on the road and also causing a possible dangerous situation, so for awhile there were you not the same as the person you were chasing after. (Somewhere on another forum there could be someone talking about the inconsiderate BMW Driver that was taking pictures with his phone while driving)

And you the perfect driver ?

Its because there is lack of proper policing by the traffic departments because they have become obsessed with the motorist as cash cows with their entrapment. So basically they are all sitting at speed traps while the suburbs have become lawless. I have it all the time, in my home neighbourhood I have to almost stop at intersections where there is no stop sign for me because stop signs seems to have become "GO" signs. I had a prick in a Honda Civic hoot and swear at me because he was behind me and I STOP at stop signs. It was only after I explained to him that he will need a very good surgeon to remove the hooter from his ahole that he took off in another direction.
:argh:

Looking at it the wrong way. If people stick to the rules and made at least some effort, little to no policing is needed. Roads can't be made safer by having more police as they can only do something after an incident like write a ticket. The real problem is the people using the roads. People have less and less respect for their vehicles everyday. They get so used to the idea of driving that the idea of a big 2 ton fast moving steel box as being potentially dangerous doesn't even register. It's why I believe kids should learn more about cars and roads and the potential dangers in school.

The problem is, there is NO policing in the suburbs, zero zilch.

:roflol:

I would say very close, as I have around 2800000km behind me not including my truck driving km's, with just 2 accidents (of which I was not at fault) in 27 years. So how is your record so far @DSTV8?

17 years driving, lots of kms, not gonna sit and calculate, 12 cars and

NO ACCIDENTS !

So, you not as close to perfect as you may think. You should have avoided those 2 accidents. :roflol:

I have done over 800 000km last 12 years. 2 accidents both not my fault and could not avoid. Both I was stationary for more than 30 sec. Come drive with me as a rep everyday and you ill be amazed at how Stupid people are.

Main thing that I have noticed is people think in the Here and now and not what is happening around me and 100 meters down the road.

But this is true of the kids I coach at cricket.

THERE IS NO SITUATIONAL AWARENESS ANY MORE.

watch people walk in shopping centres, down the road and in your office and c how they have no

SITUATIONAL AWARENESS.

WTF ? U have no idea what you talking about.

Is not Sherwin or Alistair.

You seem to have an issue with me and without knowing me.
Would you like to share why ?

Just my 2 cents, the total disregard for the basic traffic rules is what causes the bigger shit later. 4 way stops mean shit to people nowadays.. First there is always first to go, NOT.. now its first to push his nose in front that gets to go, and worst is, cars that follow the first car..that skipped the stop street.

My father taught me.. always watch what the other fool is going to do before he does it... and it works. Sometimes you see a driver.. you can already imagine what he is planning to do.. and true as shit he does exactly what you imagined..

My pet peeves is Indicators, phones, un-roadworthy vehicles and fools who think they own the road..

I have come to the conclusion that 99% of all people disregard the basic rules on the road, ignoring Stop-signs, driving through red traffic lights, making u-turns where it's not allowed and and and... And biggest concern is speeding for the law enforcement agencies. :flyfun:

It's not only the rules of the road. It's general lawlessness of society. It seems like everyone has this attitude of why should the rules apply to them.:flyfun:

The license department should add defensive driving to their tests also. I always end up driving/anticipating what other road users might do, many times spotting the ignorant car driver before they do irresponsible driving, causing a bit of road rage in other cars.

But is usually not cause they don't know better. It's cause they don't care

K53 is for defensive driving, you are turning your head more and checking the mirrors more then actually keeping an eye on the road:nonono:
