With it being Ramadan (reduced working hours), a lot of the car communities have taken to organising a meetup/drive in the afternoons. Carholics.ae is doing a phenomenal job in Abu Dhabi, which in history saw very little car community gatherings. Flat12 in Dubai does an amazing Ramadan Drive often and it bring in all the lovely sports, classics and rare cars - in fact, vehicles!

As i am based in Abu Dhabi, the Carholics.ae Lafah is often attended! Its also rite across the road from work at Yas Marina Circuit. Its a meet at 4:30pm, with a short drive at 5pm and then people mingle and take photos till its time to leave to make it home for Iftar. Generally the photographers out there are busy and love the mix of cars. I was lucky to get some pics! Head on to the M3 thread too, its been catching the eyes of photographers more than the Golf.

One pic of the Golf on the drive from point 1 to 2.

Okay, enough of my lame April Fools attempt!

Things moved rather quickly in a different direction i guess - Sort of the plan!

Alistair, my good friend from XFlow in Randburg kindly made me a downpipe for the MK5 and shipped it over.
A rather big (item) order from ECS came in as well with:
Cam Chain Service Kit
R8 Coil packs
Spark Plugs
ECS Extended boot spoiler - sent off to paint. Will install next week.
Then the PCV blank off and Cam Roller Kit that Tazo has supplied
Car was sent yesterday to Tazo to install all this plus a Autotech HPFP and a Revo Tune. Yet to get the car back, but here's some pics.
Coilovers ordered from Art in SA - Awaiting arrival, then she goes back to Tazo for the bushes and coilovers install.
Oh, and i have received the Kenwood HU, DS Amp and Lanzar splits. Got the MMAT subwoofer from the MK3. Just to build a box and install. Might have this done together with the coilovers after Eid.

So, It's been a busy few weeks - Tazo and team at Autodynamic Workshop have been at it to really transform the Golf and i am so pleased at the way it turned out.

The K&N intake installed and together with the XFlow DP, Autotech HPFP and Revo Tune this has transformed the driveability of the car. It is so much more responsive, i got to be really careful to avoid getting myself in trouble. Its loud too...

On the other hand, the car got lowered on Art Suspension Coilovers, bushes and joints were replaced and the car had an oil change! Cherry on the top of it all, BBS centre caps in Red/Gold and the Tazo custom .:R32 tail lights to hopefully finish off the Engine, Drivetrain and Cosmetic mods! Next up, the Sound install!

Pic of the engine bay.

And just 2 pics here

This car just makes me happy!!

Thinking of a wheel color change! Something that makes the wheels pop! The black works, but hides the beauty of the BBS CH wheels

Car is taking shape nicely Yas. Is it cheaper, quicker getting parts from SA? Or is it just better options in SA?

I love the CH wheels, but agree the colour needs to stand out a bit more.

Thanks Sash!
It is cheaper and the quality from SA is much better than the local shops - Speaking on the Downpipe in particular. I could have gone Miltek or the likes, but that would be 2-3 times the cost plus shipping. The local quality is very low for European cars. JDM is not as bad.

Works been so crazy and summer has kicked in solid, that i have hardly had much time to do anything to the Golf except drive it!
Just did the annual inspection, insurance and renewal - Which means its a year already and what an enjoyable year it is... You can scroll to the first post to see what it looked like a year ago compared to now - Pretty proud of this!

Anyways, other than mileage, the Golf hasnt received anything new... I still have the set of speakers to fully install as we had started but ran out of time that day to complete it. So just the Kenwood Android HU is installed. We did wire up the amp to the speakers, but then surprisingly found an OEM amp under the drivers seat. Which mean re-wiring to accommodate that amp.

Some pics of where the Golf has been frequenting the last few weeks. Most of the pics I have are at either of these spots!
