Ever since i saw Tazo's mk5 R32 with the Gallardo wheel, i fell in love with the wheel. When Tazo got the wheel i said to him that its a wheel that should not be sold and one day, if i ever get a car that the wheel will fit i will happily take it off or we keep it between us! Tazo, the good man he is did just that. In Feb we agreed to get the wheel refurbed, of course Xpress Rims was put to the task. A few weeks of back and forth on the color we opted to keep it the same as it was.
Got the wheels on Friday night. Fitted on Saturday.
This is a set of OEM Gallardo fronts. Wheel spec is superb for MK5!

Clubsports are sold. So, BBS CH, Lambos and I might not share the 3rd set of wheels until Offset.dxb on the 5/6 April.

Alright! Some of you have seen the update already on FB and IG but here's the story!
Being in the UAE, the car culture is amazing but very selective and restricted at the same time. There are multiple 'categories' of modified culture. You get the performance ballers with their 2000hp + super/hyper car builds, out of my league and far and few!
You get the 'Chamaks' who will mod their car with anything and everything from AliBaba they can find, on any car!
Then you get the stance, pops n bangs and copy cats!
Old school...
JDM...
Euro...
Then you get a blend of Performance, Stance, JDM/Euro/Oldschool, Chamak...
And more...
With that, there are events... Each catering the needs of the multiple categories. Flat12, caters for the various categories. Of course the Chamaks have their superior shows. Then there's Offset.DXB...
Offset.DXB caters for the Clean Stance Culture. The car that has that near flawless fitment, excellent coordination. A taste that flows! Pushing the boundaries when it comes to personal style! Like Flat12's grand picnic, bringing in cars and people from around the world embracing stance, euro, jdm, old school and what i call the car enthusiast lifestyle with an added twist, combining graffiti, dancing and skating (controversially).

Now... Onto my journey to offset 2025.
Lucky enough to know Dan and many of the Offset team, so getting an approval to display my cars was easier than others but Offset is an invite only event for cars on display. The event is then open to spectators over the 2 days, this year 5th and 6th April. The first 2 Offset.dxb events were held at Media One Hotel, in a 7 story parking lot, you can find pics in my M3 thread - The M3 was on display for the 2023 and 2024 editions. This year, at a new venue and i would gladly say that this is a better venue, the timing though needs to be a month earlier as we saw 40 degrees all day until the sun went down. The venue, Jewel of the Creek in Deira, Dubai - On the promenade between the Marriott and Hilton hotels with its picturesque Dubai skyline, what more could one ask for...
The M3 was also approved for this year, but having sold my BC wheels i opted not to take it. My new wheels did arrive in the nick of time, but i did not have time to get them installed for the show!
That means, i had to take the Golf. Now, ultimately, the Golf was bagged having Offset in mind but we had to spice it up with a little South African flavor! Lambo wheels on a Golf is so Dubai rite!! I had the rite wheel in mind and as the plan was always to have both cars of mine at Offset i planned early for the Golf. I ordered the wheels months ago, they sat in the basement waiting for Offset to arrive.
Queue the 4th of April, the day of Offset Load In!
Wheels loaded and we off to Dubai.
Off to the boys at Xpress Rim Repair to install the 215 35 18 inch tyres on 8.5j/9.5j wheels!
Yup! Mercedes Benz Alphards! Research shows they are off a variety of sought after models and after seeing how well they fit on Jarreds Mk5, i had to have it for Offset.
On the way to Offset load in, stopped at Flat12Cafe for a wash!
Ofcourse, load in and show days the GP plates to represent!!
Shows on! Epic views!
We back home in Abu Dhabi, after an amazing weekend. Golf is back on the Lambos and ready for the daily!

A few parts came in for the Golf. Sent it over to Autodynamic to install...
- Triple R Composites front Lip and sideskirts - They call this the low line kit!
- Kill All Wipers wiper delete - deletes the rear windshield wiper and washer.
- Mk6 trunk latch with built in camera - i had the backing painted the color of the car and the badge in gloss back.
- No Pics of these installed but it looks exactly the same as before except they are new:
- Front sides and centre AC vents and centre console
- Rear AC vents
- Centre cupholder

Abree got me looking at Golf 5 GTis in the classifieds again since he got this one...and finding the gold that he did here is not easy at all. (Not related to the 2 door but a good condition, well looked after one). I fI can get my hands on a nice, clean 5 GTi in manual, with xenons, 18s, MFS and sunroof...
Will be bliss!
