Afternoon all.

Well i am very proud to say that i bought my 1st BMW last week a 2000 BMW 330i. What a beauty!! Im sure im going to get many joyous km from her.

Here is my question. What sort of possible problems or parts wiould I need to replace round the 166k mark?

Or do you guys have any things i should look out for?

Thanks

Lower control arm bushes - R3k
Maybe a window regulator - R600 from a scrapyard
Oh, it's a 330...lots of petrol and tyres... :)

Congrats on the car :) 330i very nice!!!

My dad had a 2001 330i with 185 000KM's on, he sold it but the only on problems that i gave was small things like the window units, the central locking, steering bushes.....

That's pretty much it.

But that was at 185 000km's, so i dont think you have anything to worry about for a while hey!!!

Just enjoy her!!

Not an expert on the E46 330I by any means, but these tend to be the common things on BMWs...

At that age and mileage, it may be worth replacing most of the cooling system as preventative maintenance if you dont have any documented proof that they were replaced before.
Look at replacing waterpump, thermostat, radiator, all the rubber coolant hoses and having the coolant flushed.
As mentioned the suspension is probably in need of an overhaul...so look out for control arms, tie rods etc...
The power steering hoses are probably going to start leaking sometime soon, so they may need to be changed.
Maybe check the valve cover seals too. If there is any oil leaking out of them, they need to be replaced.
Take a look at the any gaskets+intake boot around the throttle aswell...they can introduce nasty vacuum leaks when they have small cracks.
If its an automatic, you may want to look into getting the oil and filter changed.
Replace the fuel filter and think about replacing the fuel pump aswell, especially if you can hear it running.
Headlight glass/plastic at 160K is probably pitted to hell and in need of replacment. You will be so suprised at the extra amount of light output you will get from new headlight lenses...
