Hi everyone, I drive X5 E70

We bought a used e70 3.0si at about 95000kms 2 years ago. The thing was a money pit. Issue after issue. Various suspension parts, air springs, EPB, headlight control unit, pano roof.. etc etc

A used Discovery 4 V8 at similar mileage has required zero parts so far.

Not related to your question but it all looked familiar. Decided to park it and make it a week-ender. Not sure how others live with such an unreliable brand.

Just because you've had a bad experience doesn't mean that the brand is unreliable.

Personally all the BMWs I've owned have been incredibly reliable even up to high mileage. My E60 I sold at 235k km didnt give a days hassle. Regular servicing and the only major work I had to do was a suspension overhaul at 200k km which I think is reasonable. I know the person that bought it and it still continues to be reliable.

I know and agree that yes our experience may not be the same as that of others. But its nevertheless worth sharing.
