Prius 1 was a 500 000km Seafrost green Gen2 Prius that i litteraly bought for 42K as a Joke, like it's so cheap it doesn't matter if it's a turd. Boy was that a mistake.
Prius 2 was a 198 000km Grey Gen2 Prius (Pov spec, but still CC, Keyless go) that had a battery replacement somewhere in it's life, and had a bit of a argument on the drivers side somewhere in it's past. Drove like a tank, cornered like pudding, but the ride was very W124 like. Firm but cosseting.
Prius 3 was a Lexus CT200H (MiniMike bought it from me). Was nice, but lacked the space of the prius, and the sport seats where horibly uncomfortable, but it cornered exceptionally well. Like it stuck in a corner like a BMW. One owner car. Slow as a dog so you had to use cornering ability to maintain pace
Prius 4 repalced the CT200H when might bought it. This one was half the millage of Prius 2, also a Gen3 (but not pov spec), one owner (old lady from Westcliff), faster than the CT200H, slower than Prius2. But had heated seats, and leather, and autoparking, satnav, reverse cam, LED lights and a few other things over the Pov spec. Exclusively serviced between Killarney Toyota and later Parktown Toyota
Prius 5 is another Gen3 F/L with half the millage of Pruis 4. Another one owner car from Saxonworld. Only Killarney and Parktown Toyota serviced it, this one was serviced RIGOURLESSLY like no matter the millage movement it was serviced annually. Prof in Dental surgery from Wits. The F/L Gen3 did away with the base spec model and just kept the range topping model, but added in a few extra improvements.
The people at Cresta Toyota call me "the Prius guy"
1. Sunroof with Solar power for venilation
2. Remote A/C on for prechilling the car
3. JLB sound that is very very impressive vs the Lexus and Gen2 sound systems.
4. Improved ICE system better camera resolution etc
5. More advanced cluster display
6. Changed to a twotone leather interior in black.
So why Prius.
1. Cathastropically undervalued cars. People hear this bullshit 30K for a battery nonsense being spouted regularly and go NHOOOO must be kak expensive to maintain. Yhea tell me about that ZF box in your BMW that is slipping and the cost to repair? Or that Mechatronics in your VW that fucked out. Pissoff with that. Out of the 5 cars one had a battery falure and that was the CT200h, and i knew the moment i drove it the battery is a bit lame. Still cost to replace is nothing if it's 30K form TSA for a pack. How much does BMW/VW charge for a clutch replacement. And there are people that will repair the Highvoltage pack for less than a set of disks on a F30
2. Easy to park, easy to drive quietly, massive amounts of interior space.
3. It is a applicace to get to work, why would i waste fuel getting to work, i wanna waste fuel over the weekend when i make the RR squat it's arse dropping 900nm, or have the Mini smoke a tyre as i peel out of a intersection, or just turning 95 into intake and exhaust noise with the Z. Not to frikking work and back.
