Another Porsche

Thanks bud.
Also agree that a wing is a must for a Porsche. Donāt know what would work, seen a ducktail option but to me, it then looks funny when the standard wing is up.
GT4 wing, will be a bit much. So for now, no wings.

Taking me back, Edition 35 was still one of the better cars Iāve owned.

Thanks, a trip to the coast is definitely needed.
Was invited by Porsche for a track event at Kyalami yesterday. Amazing day with like minded enthusiasts, but more importantly getting to know your and your cars capabilities in a well controlled environment.
I was in group 1 with some other great machines (GT4 RS, 718 GTS 4.0, 992 GTS, 996, GT3 RS) and once the instructor got the feel for the group we were really attacking Kyalami. The instructor in the lead car was great, and with each of us having 2 way radios when he could advise on lines, braking, speed etc in the initial stages.
Once you get used to it, and realise what the car has to offer you start pushing more. My car had much more to offer than what my talent could match and now have firsthand experience of why a Cayman is considered one of the better handling cars. Truly an amazing machine and I was easily able to keep up with much faster cars. When I was right behind the instructor in his GT3 RS, I really pushed and just mimicked his braking, lines etc and we actually left the pack behind
.
Even my wife drove and she was flying. Again showing what a capable machine the Cayman is.
Iāve done many track days with various cars, and advanced driver training so that helped but with my wife first time on a track, she quickly grew confident cos of the car.
Interesting future, with my love of Porsche even more now,in terms of what the next car would be.

Wow those of your car only are like brochure pics man! 
Itās been 6 months since Iāve taken delivery of the Porsche. Iāve averaged just over 500 kms per month.
Been using it for the odd school run, many breakfast runs and mini meets with other fellow Porsche owners and the odd weekend drive with my wife and son, but obviously not at the same time
.
Itās an extremely amazing car to own, delivering an experience every time I use it, no matter how short or long the drive is, or the destination.
Iāve said it before and will mention again, it can easily be used as a daily drive, comfortable enough, sufficient storage space and despite having the sports car lines and design, it is not too low to cause many issues with speed bumps or steep inclines.
Activating the PSE is an occasion every time, the exhaust notes and burbles/pops are absolutely addictive and rival most.
The driver engagement all comes together when you are really pushing it in the twisty part of the roads. You can try and āupsetā the car but it just takes everything in its stride. This is a good and bad thing as it makes you a bit complacent and you could run out of talent way before the car will lose the rear end.
2 minor issues since ownership, first was with the clear coat peeling on the left headlight. Took it to Porsche, they inspected itā¦ā¦it was very minor and you had to know what you looking for to even notice it, however Porsche replaced the entire headlight. No complaints from their side.
Second issue was the frunk lock. Sometimes it wouldnāt open. You would hear the mechanism working but the frunk wouldnāt pop. As it was an intermittent issue, I videoed the problem, showed it to Porsche and they ordered a brand new unit and replaced it.
So the service thus far has been great. Itās due for a minor service in a week and this also should be fully covered by the plan.
I will eventually get into some 911 variant but the Cayman GTS is such an amazing car that I may just enjoy this journey longer than I intended. I really canāt fault this car.

Coming up to a year of ownership. Covered 5k kms in these 12 months.
No negative experience to report, as I continue to enjoy the Cayman and owning a Porsche.
As I start wondering āwhere to from hereā I have a few pending decisions to make. Namely, extend plan, sell and buy another Porsche, or take a risk and keep the car without the plan. Iām currently on 51k kms.
Leaning towards at least another year with the car as Iām not ready to let it go or believe that Iāve enjoyed the car enough.
Also, a replacement would have to be really special to match or be better, and that will come at a significant cost which, to me, doesnāt make sense.
I may look at rather adding another ātoyā to the garage at this stage.
Have about a week to make my decision as Iāve already got a decent offer from Porsche to buy back. Not much stock of these cars (if any) within the Porsche network.

Honestly, I felt the same way about my 4C and here I am many years later. You can always add another Porsche of a different calibre and not necessarily replace this one. There is a reason many of these sorts of cars are scarce in the various networks... owners are hanging on to them and for good reason. If you are not able to also get a great deal on a substantial upgrade (with a GT or turbo somewhere in the name), I'd keep it.
I suggest you hang onto the gts. Very few other sports car will give you the same driving pleasure. The gts has a beautiful exhaust note, high enough redline and the pdk means you will be loving the downshifts. When you feel your knee starts hurting a little from bumping the center column start thinking 997 carrera s manual or 991.1 carrera s.Coming up to a year of ownership. Covered 5k kms in these 12 months.
