Hi guys. Some opinions. I think the car is worth about r240k now. A 2012 320d. I would guess about a R100k of damage and on the limit of being totaled. What's the more professional opinions say?

Btw...its my brother's car and not mine. His first BMW and he was really enjoying it, he actually sold his motorbike as he wasn't riding it anymore which says a lot. He was part of a pile up in Durham yesterday where some idiot stopped for no reason on the highway, cars one and my brother emergency braked with little damage but the 3 and for 4 collided with both all of them very hard. Car that caused it had no damage.

That would require a new inner fender, which means motor out.

If the airbags did not go, its a maybe, if they did, and the dash airbag went, she is a gonner.

This car can be "repaired" semi decently for about 60 to 100k, however wont have motorplan, with Motorplan i guess 150k is the right number, and if that is more then 60% of trade, she is gone.

Wow I I drove past this crash . Was it on the N2 towards Durban, Felt so sorry for that BMW , It was sandwiched between the cars , Not sure how the C- Class ended up between the cars and the barrier but , The new Audi A4 looked bad . So sorry for your brother , I guess it might be written off , Insurance want to write off everything nowdays .

Parts alone would be around 80k or more, then the panel shop markup, labour and paint possibly another 70k.

Hi yes in the n2. C class tried to mis the car in front of him and then the bakkie from the back pushed all of us into each other.

BMW dealers have a 4 day sale next weekend, 50k from BMW themselves and interest at prime. Get him to call around and see what cars dealers have on that scheme.

Thanks for the headsup. He did say he is struggling to find a 320d but loved the 328i he tested over the weekend.
