Justmy view on this one, Turbo's are a maint. item.

Fact, its going to cost you less to do a turbo at a dealership them what it would to do a clutch and flywheel..

They break, you replace them, and move on...

The 4 cyl BMW's I have a problem with, specially the diesels, but the 6 cyl's rock so hard :)

And, turbos are now with us if we like them or not, in terms of BMW's current line-up of motors. So turbo reliability and replacement prices would have to be better, otherwise lots of tears indeed! :thumbs:

i dont know where you guys come with these 4k rebuild prices,you can have it serviced(different to rebuild) for half the price and get a year warranty,(includes 13month warranty,new nuts,studs,gaskets,mani(if brought in with turbo) and turbo machined flat,balanced,price was 2350 june2011)

And there is always the slight turbo lag, despite the technology getting better.
Will wait and see how many recalls there will be for turbo issues ...
