BMW Motorsport use Akra even though they have their own developed muffler system made if Inconel.
I'm guessing this us do cos they don't have a full race cat system available

By the way .... The M Performance muffler system rocks

Might aid in noise, but gains are near to none. I have spoken to a few people that have gone this route on both NA and FI applications. Price is an absolute ripoff for what you are getting.

I am making reference to the BMW offering.

BMW don't advertise it as a performance enhancer. 0 bhp gains to be made. All they say is that it's there for the sound and that's fair cos that's what most muffler systems do anyway.
For gains you'd need to be tampering with the primary and secondary cats plus a tune.
This would explain why they left the full system to the aftermarket guys.

Price is a ripoff, but what isn't with bmw?

Gains are minimal, but it def make the car breath easier, and def rev much better! Beside my car got a better time on the 1/4 miles:rollsmile:

Personally, the workmanship, the noise and all that I think is def worth it (ok I'm kind of contradicting myself with the 1st sentence):blab:

M performs and Akra mufflers are priced around the same. It's the old titanium v Inconel argument.
There's a you tube vid showing a before and after, stock and m perform... There's a 2 bhp increase but a 16kg weight loss.

I didn't get the pipes for performance and besides, I have a 2 year manufacturers warranty from BMW on the pipes.

This system separates the tame m3s from the wilder ones ( in the sound category)
