Air ride suspension question.

Hi Guys,

What are the requirements for installing air ride on a BMW (E93) to be specific.

My question is a bit vague - but do the fender liners need to be removed in order to get the car to go all the way to the ground ?

What else need to be removed in order to get it drop to the floor ?

Regards,
Sugen

I know you must have the c notch removed or something, not sure exactly and I think they do remove the fender lining, Maybe speak to Tauriq from Capestance, he should be able to explain everything to you

Thanks bud,

Not really impressed with the idea of removing the fender liners - too much stuff can go wrong when it rains.

BMW electronics are not something I want to play with.....

Okay I spoke to Tauriq now, he says you will only need a low profile tyre, everything else stays OEM on the E93s and E82s

I have the standard tyre profiles for my car:

Front 235/35/19
Rear 265/30/19

Doubt I can go lower than that.

do you know cost? R25k?

A entry level kit is like 30k I think, that was the quote I got for my GTi but for a good top kit its about 80k as far as I know

The cost of the system, will depend on what type of management you want to run and the components used....My cousin had the Accuair-E Level system fitted to his car, and that costed about R75k two years back....

Iv seen basic system's with modified shocks and basic hobb switches that can cost R20k...

As far as how low you want to go, its on the individual, notching suspension components, running skinny tyre's, fender flaring etc etc....

It's all dependant on how much you willing to spend in all honesty

i wouldnt need it to go on the floor. just drop & let the wheels tuck in slightly. on a lexus GS300. otherwise Tein Coilovers would prob do.
