Air Con starts with car

Every time i start my car the air con/fan turns on as well, is there a way to stop it from coming on?

Put the air con off maybe before u switch the car off :mmm:

Get the key recoded. This is preset settings.

The car is suppose to remember the last settings as far as I know, so next time you insert the key if the aircon/fan was running prior to switching off and removing the key, it will return to this state on start-up...

Of course if it is forgetting your last settings and reverting to a sort of default setting then I agree with the key needing to be recoded.

My car use to do this when I just bought it, after switching it off first before switching car off a few times the car remembered it. Now it only goes on when I want it to.

Also try your spare key. IIRC, the aircon settings are dependent on the individual keys.

I have tried with both keys and also, reset my seat positioning and turned the fan of, still comes on when i start, it even changes the fan speed when it comes on.

I turned everything off, and locked the car, climbed back in turned on and the air con started up and went to full at 16 degrees.

so i guess its time to recode the keys.

Is the aircon set on the auto setting?

I have the exact same thing happening on my e36 - it just turns on whenever the car is started.
But it does remember if I had just the fan on or the aircon. :dunno:
