Hi Gents

Will be purchasing a vehicle that has just come off plan, looking for a good place, with reasonable prices to service the car? - Jhb area.

Any advice?

Plenty of good and competent places around, then there is DIY which is free apart from the parts needed - but for maintaining a service history, a dedicated third party garage, or in some cases even the agents if it's just a simple oil service to get the book stamped!

My E90 has a few months left, so want to maintain the FSH record, but also terrified of letting anyone touch the car other than me, and this includes of course the agents, so would try and DIY as much as possible...

There are a few guys... Dont have all their number but Google should have it.

Tune Tech
SavSpeed
Budler

I havent used these guys but heard they pretty good.
MotoTrix (IIRC) - Kamal - 0723716491

These guys say they BMW specialists, i went to them to get a quote last week Friday, im still waiting for it. So, i wouldnt bother (just putting this out there)
GP Motor Works.

In addition... Do your research, whatever you need to do, find out from BMW first how much they charge.

I did this and found that most of the guys listed above charge more or less the same as BMW for servicing.

Example: Tune Tech, Sav and Budler say it will be around R3500 for a major service on my 330d, BMW says R3600. Im sending it to BMW.

Thanks gents

I was gonna be using budler....as was told by many tht his the next best thing next to the agents...I have had pathetic service by tune tech previously so would never go back!!

Mr A- thanks will be checking with agents

So far i havnt come across any BMW specialist cheaper than the stealers so i only send my cars to BMW.Not ideal but there's less things to worry about.

Got a quote from a specialist for front brake pads on an e90 @ 1600 and BMW charged me 1300 for the pads and i think 300 odd for labour. For me it just does not make sense to go to a specialist.
