Hi Guys,

I would like to know who on this forum would be able to tell me what the estimate would be to do the following. Luckily i'm on MP but would like to know what kinda cost you looking at if you don't have MP.
Replacement of flywheel + clutch kit etc to sort out shudder when pulling off.

On MP it was close to 20k to do this on my 2006 E90 323i.

Worst case if the flywheel also needs to be replaced you are probably looking at around R3k (or it might be closer to R4k I am not so sure now) for a flywheel and around R2.5k for a clutch kit, this is not at the dealers of course, from them you will probably be looking at around R12-15k just for parts. As far as labour you would probably be looking at R2k at least, but in most cases it will probably be more. You could also consider DIY if you are very courageous :)

LOL LOL... Me even attempting DIY on this car.... let's just say i would end up taking it to someone when it's in pieces and have no clue how to put it back together.. When it comes to things like that it's safe to say i have an IQ of around 5 when it comes to fixing a car..

Thanks a mil for the estimate prices if it's not via the dealer.

Yeah there is not really a way of maintaining a BMW out of motorplan if have to rely on dealer prices unless you have very deep pockets or a steady supply of kidneys. BMW is doing a really good job trying to kill all models older than 5 years or so, luckily there are lots of places that you can get the stuff cheaper :)

you looking at abut 10k including labour give or take 1-2k here or there... the most would be about 15k anything over that and you getting ripped off :)

stealers: 30+ :)

yeah dont compare the cost u see on the Motoplan charge outs - its extremely bumped up to make you think u getting a bargain.
In the real world (unless u buy from BMW) charges and part cost are loads cheaper.

jakkals... are you sure the changed the fly wheel and clutch? as far as i know 20k would only cover parts on that job... if its parts and labour then its a really good price (from bmw)

I would just watch the part where they would test the effect of five sticks of dynamite on a motorplan .
