Hi Guys,

i'm currently driving my 130i 5-door with m-package. thinking of selling it and looking for a diesel.

1. what do you reckon is a good selling price considering the following - 33000km on the clock, 2007 model, full mpacks, rear pdc, loud speaker system, prof radio, bluetooth hands free, xenons, electric lumbar support, grey leather, immac condition, still has full motorplan, headlamp washers, short shift gearbox ( manual ) , picture in my signature.

2. whats the better buy in diesel - 120d or 320d?

3. used diesel ok to buy? or rather buy new?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Why don't you keep the 130i. In my opinion, although the 2.0d is good, it's going to be a step down from the 130i.

The 330d is a different story though .... but if you budget does not stretch that far, I'd keep the 130i.

Just my R0.02 on this.

I have a 2003 320i exclusive 139k kms. Although its in mint condition, I am lusting after something with a little more oomph :mmm:

I missed a 2006 130i sport with a full schnitzer kit 2 weeks back for R220k with 40k on the clock.

Yeah... Wouldn't mind doing a straight swop. I have a 2005 120d 5 door in silver, with 104 000Kms on the clock. You'd get great fuel consumption! :spit: Just kidding. Love the 130i! Why are you wanting to sell such an awesome car?

Dont do it...you will soon regret it. If its fuel consumption that you want, I would suggest buying a smaller beater and using that for daily commutes!

i suppose i could keep it..... lol

well one reason being i do alot of mileage and the fuel bill is a bit extensive. to say the least. and i do know its not ALL the cars fault, but if the engine didnt sound so good i wouldn't want to hear it every now and again growling!! secondly as nice as it looks the m pack is a pain for me as i cannot go see my parents where they are ( game farm in MP ) as the roads are horrid and i cant get it over my heart to take the car "off roading".

I looked at maybe getting a runner for daily use....but then what can i get with the same driving comfort as the BM? not much could compare except another BM. Either way if i sell this one i'm in for another R100k financing or if i buy a good runner it's also in for another R100k financing......

So buy the runner for 100k financing and keep the 130i for city/weekend driving. For me, the 2nd option seems more logical.

Yup, couldn't agree more with Muney and MSM. You have an awesome car, just take the added fuel consuption as 'Awesomeness tax'. How many kms do you do? Have you worked out what you will save? Keep in mind added maintenance costs in the long run (but I suppose you're looking at new, right).

Also, I think petrol engines keep their value a bit better than the tractors.

i have some thinking to do. the 330D sounds nice....but then again running cost out of plan on a diesel is high...

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

Much appreciated.

buy an e46 318i or 320i, or 325i or tractor. you can get them at a fair price. roughly R100k. put on aftermarket motor plan if it doesnt have factory plan. e46 wont kill your pocket on economy or price, + you have a great quality vehicle.
