M140i extras and new vs used

I pretty much decided on the M140i and have been searching for one for the past month with all the extras I want.

I am looking for:
-Alpine White (or Estoril Blue) with black leather blue stitching
-Rear-view camera
-Rear and front PDC
-Comfort telephony (enhanced bluetooth, antennas, mic)
-Connected Drive package
-Low mileage or new

I cant find one with all those on it. I'm starting to get a bit impatient, but at the end of the day, good things come to those that wait, so I have the following options:

2017 White M140i with 19000km on clock - R539000
-no rear view camera
-no high beam assist
-no front PDC
-slightly high mileage

2017 White M140i with 7000km on clock - R569000
-looked at some before pics, has paint scratched on lower left bumper just ontop of the wheel. Newer pics from BMW seem to look perfecct, they must have touched up
-no rear view camera
-no blue stitching in seats
-no high beam assist

2017 White M140i with 12500km on clock - R589000
-no rear view camera
-no blue stitching in seats

2018 White M140i BRAND NEW Shadow Edition - R650000
-no front PDC
-no high beam assist

2018 White M140i BRAND NEW Shadow Edition- R655000
-no enhanced bluetooth with car antenna, noise cancelling mic
-no connecteddrive package - ie missing remote services
-no high beam assist

So my first question is - I've been a bit put off with used after seeing that scratched one for R569000 - is this a misconception and is it normal to fix up scratches before selling? Basically, is it worth the premium to buy brand new? It's also probably worth around R10-20k for the extra year motor plan, no? Any other benefits to buying new except for a lighter wallet :thumbdo:

And based on the above from guys that have been driving BMWs before - what extras can you see that I've noted that shouldn't really a trainsmash if not specced?

And lastly - should I be patient and continue waiting and calling dealers for the next few weeks ie - do these cars become available with my specs often or am I asking for too much? Should I just take one of the options above and if so, which one?

Thanks in advance for the help!

If sources are correct these will be the last M140i's built.. So buy the Highest spec one with Lowest mileage you can find!

At around 650 for brand new that is not badly priced.. A used one with less than 10k kms should also work if as you also mention it has 0 damage on it..

All the best searching, you might have to order new with all the kit you want

Hi bru. I also recently purchased one and didn't come across one with high beam assist. However I managed to get the spec I wanted albeit new through Auto Bavaria. The Shadow Edition only comes with rear PDC and camera so most don't spec the front PDC as well.

That's awesome - I'm sure you are loving your car!

Out of interest, what spec did you get and what extras do you find the most useful/least useful?

In case it helps:
Remote Services can be added afterwards from the ConnectedDrive Customer Portal @ R1100.once off.

Hi. Im also looking for one and I saw all those you listed for sale. Im caught between buying now and waiting a bit. I expect them to drop in price quiet a bit in the next 6-12 months, like all BMW's. I think the base price is around R670k, so many have already lost a a good R100k-R150k. Just last year 2016 ones were going for R560k and now you can get 2017 models for that price. Also, take into account that the 1 series generally have a very low spec. If you compare to a 2016 340i, for a similar price you will find many options on the 3 series. Think I'm going to wait as I want a blue or orange. Good luck

It seems like the least common extras are:

1) Front PDC
2) High-Beam assist

Has anyone had experience with these and are they worth waiting for or should I get without them? ie- how useful and how often does one use these?

1) Rear PDC is more important, front dont trigger that much, specially with these low curb, it wont detect, its best to seat right up and check or have other person help you to check when you park.

2) I have High-beam assist. tbh, i dont use that at all, i prefer control it myself, but i have tried it, it works, when there us incoming vehiclem it will dip it self and switch back one once car passed, but i have find it will only work at less light area, so city and urban with street lamps wont work as accurate.

High beam assist on my car hardly ever gets used. Not a must-have IMHO. Front PDC also won't help you much with many low kerbs and the car isn't exactly huge so you should be fine.

Your second last option is what I'd look at personally
