Advice - Straight Pipe or Resonators

I need some advice please for my E46 325i.

I had the cats under the drivers/passengers seat removed and straight pipes installed probably a year ago. I am thinking of replacing with resonators, this topic has come up before but hopefully more of you have more experience and can share.

Replacing with resonators will remove the tiny sound but will it give more of a deeper tone (something like 330i, won't be the same I know) or will it be flat and sound like every other car?

Ultimately I want to know if it will be worth while in order to get the deeper tone or should I leave it.

What do you prefer - the tinny sound like a M3 six cyl or a deeper sound like a E30 325iS ?
I Would put resonators in for a deeper sound .

The purpose of a resonator is not just to change the tone of the exhaust. It's called a resonator for a reason.

I would rather save up for a proper system and not play around with the odd components. Removing the cats, rids the system of resistance and this just introduces some of it again.
