Advice on Purchasing a unique E46 M3 2002

HI Guys,

I've recently been checking out the e46 M3. wanted one of these beauties for years now.

Im a real noob ... However I've done a huge amount of research on what too look out for when going to view a car like this. I'm willing to take on the risk associated with this car.

Right now I need the fanatics opinion's / feedback / advise / criticism (Is Welcome) / recommendations to know if i should consider viewing the car from the information given. As the seller is quiet far out from where I stay.

I've been in contact with a guy that has a 2002 E46 M3 SMG 165 000km. The unique thing about this car is its been resprayed to a Pearl white color (exactly the same as the v8 M3) The original color of the car was black.

This guy seems pretty genuine as he sent me a list of what has been done and things that needs attention.

Lets start with the bad:

What Needs to be done:

Valve clearances.
Fuel pump.
The inside wheel arches are missing in the front and the fog light cover.

On toooo - What has been done recently:

New fluids and filters for the engine and gearbox
New clutch
New front control arms
New cam sensor
New windscreen
New anti-roll bar links and bushes
New tires on 19” CSL style wheels with the wheel alignment done
New belts and pulleys on motor
New battery
Refurbed Vanos solenoid pack

Engine flush done
Brake fluid flush done at BMW
Vanos refurbished
MAF cleaned
Intake cleaned
AC regassed

Any help is appreciated cause i have little knowledge of the minor issues i'm only aware of the major issues. Asking Price is around 120k

i know people prefer the 6 speed manual instead of SMG cause of reseller value,

I was actually interest in the 2004 - 2006 models with the Xenon kits, but those models are extremely hard to come by. I have only found 2 that i did not like just by the pictures.

If you guys know anyone selling they beauties please send they details.:hammerhead::smashScreen::YesNo:

Yeah I'm sure that car was for sale on the forum not too long ago. Seller had a good, honest for sale thread, but car did need some work. Any 2nd hand E46 m3, just bite the bullet and do the bearings when you get it.

.nice colour...

This was for sale on this forum too..

Its actually not a lot of money for a fast car... im sure you can sort out all issues with about r40k..

If you have that kind of money then go for it... otherwise nooooo...

m stands for motorsport but it also stands for Money!

im gonna b hated again like in the jb4 threads but reality-check id take this 40k with a biiiig pinch of salt if it was 40k the owner would do that and sell easy for 250k its a simple math.only way to know is to take the car to a mechanic like tunetec and have them check and tell u what u looking at.these cars can be eyewatering to fix up.
