Good day everyone

I would just like some advice on the BMW M135i 2013 model

I have had mixed replies regarding the below so was wanting advice from people who own or know about the 135i in depth

How strong are the internals of the BMW M135i? Can they support a bigger turbo, if so what turbo have people been able to fit onto them?
Also with the standard turbo what boost have people able to push the car to without damaging the turbo? (if you are running water meth and upgraded intake)

Regards

How long is a piece of string?
How big the turbo? How much boost, how big the fuel pumps, how good the cooling blah blah blah. Cars are strong but not indestructible

Why not simply buy a more powerful car off the bat ? Will probably cost the same in the end plus you will have OEM reliability in the stock car.

Like the other guys said, its a very open ended question

I dont know in depth about eninge internals but reliability is all up to how you drive it, frequency of driving relate it to.

you could fit big turbo and dyno once and only drive around like granny, never racing, sure it can be claimed reliable?

Anyway, I have M135i and basic mods doing 269kw 580nm daily and racing with it, so far the common problem is HPFP( replaced under campaign) , OFH leaking (replacing soon), and charge pipe crack fractured.

As for what turbo to go for, I have heard PURE Turbos is good route to go, but i will suggest to talk to your tuner to see what turbo is he/she more confident in.

Regard to standard turbo boost, I can run JB4, with max boost of 18.5psi (map 7 race map) but i dont really do that, its not the turbo i am worried, its more about engine and timing and ping what not.
So i normally leave it on map 5, (Autotuning map, absolute target of 11-17psi based on octane and conditions).
I dont see how upgraded intake or WMI can damage turbo, but for WMI u can hydro lock an engine if not setup properly.

It is a very good car, I enjoy my everyday.
