Hey mate

I would try find one with a little plan left (then you can get all the N54 problems fixed easily) Then when plan ends do the mechanical warranty thing. The problem with motorplan is modding. And if your getting N54 you want to and MUST mod. I got mine with 6 months left on MP, got everything sorted for free (free, but had to deal with the stealers). Now is being better looked after privately and modded to rocketship speed.
E92 335i all the way. I would have loved the DCT but they are even more hard to find.

Good luck, N54 power!

Hi Woodies

Thanks for the advice bud. My plan is exactly what you said haha  It must be N54 because nothing stays stock around me :cartel:

I've spoken to some other guys about my dilemma deciding between 1 and 3 series and they all reckon 1 series is the way to go because it is lighter, lighter on fuel and has better resale.. Is there any truth in this?

My 2010 N55 DCT will be for sale soon after service at BMW.

Thank you Dean I will keep an eye out.

Just as a matter of interest what is the modding potential difference between N54 and N55

I'm not so sure on the resale part hey.
I know the E92 holds value quite well.
Also, its more of a "man's car" in my eyes :tiptoe:

LOL don't make k@k on my thread Kimmy. I do agree with you though and I'm also larger than the average bear so maybe the 3 series is the way to go

I had a 135 and moved to a 335i and I am definitely more comfortable in the 335 (I am 189cm and 105kg)

That confirms it then, I am about the same dimensions and mass

Hahaha, like the "man's car":roflol: comment
You would probably have an easier time finding the 135 with DCT over the 335i with DCT. The 135 is maybe 100kgs lighter I think, but not sure if its as stable as the 335i on top end. The 335i just looks better to me personally, still prefer it too the 435i. Guess I'll have to keep saving for that M4.

I've had a 125i, a 135i and the 335i and it will always be the 335i for me, its a lot more spacious and comfortable. There is definitely more stability at high speed, yes the 135i is abit quicker but the 335i certainly feels like a lot more car.

Thanks for all the helpful advice gents. Can't wait to get into my x35 :joy: and join the club

Be careful what you wish for:rollsmile: once you go x35 you're hooked:blowheart:
Jokes aside. I've had my 135i for just over a year now, coming from an e92 325i, and every single day I press the 'Start' button I get a huge stupid grin on my face:rollsmile: the modding has helped spur these emotions on I must add

Good luck and happy hunting (whichever way you go e92 or e82)
:praise:
