As long as you service it every 10000km and you won't complain about petrol I don't see a problem.

100km per day?
I wouldn't do that to an M3 on a daily basis.
Petrol, maintenance & unnecessary km…
I daily my Z4M but I do max 30km daily (often <20)

I use mine as a daily and she never complains, they are really not that expensive to maintain, plus highway economy still between 6.5 and 7.2km/100km. But I would probably not put that much kilos on an E46 M3 on a daily ( unless you do some preventative maintenance like bearings etc)...mine only does 6 km's per day and I'd get a 330d to do 100km per day instead. My 2cents and it's pretty much still your choice

Just make sure you have done your homework on maintenance costs. Buying teh car is one thing, maintaining it is another. Make sure your budget takes both into account adequately.

just out of interest sake, how much do E46 M drivers that dont service with BMW pay for the following:
> Brake discs and pads?
> Tyres
> Clutch
> Services - Major and minor
> bearings?

i often get the idea to sell my E36 and get an E46 or M Coupe but just wanted to know what the usual costs entail before i act :=):

Brake Pads - you can use textar - roughly R1200 per set.
Brake discs - I would use BMW, i think they are around R3k per disc

Tyres - depends on size and brand. Last quote i got was in July 2015:
Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2
225/45/18 @ R1950-00 each
255/40/18 @ R2950-00 each

I did clutch and flywheel recently using an independent and LUK parts, cost R16k. Would have been over 30k at BMW.

Oil Service at BMW - R1900
Oil Service at Independant can be about R1000 if you use Liqui Moly.

Bearings - cost varies according to who does it and what parts are used. R14k-R20k.
