Advice needed of F30

Hi Fanatics

i saw a 2012 F30 320D with about 200k km on the clock with no FSH, Apparently this engine are bullet proof, would it be worthwhile for me to consider it over the E90 320D? seeing that it is in my price range and I just want to get my bum in a Beemer.
looking forward to your great advice :eek:mgwaiting:

I personally wouldn't... A car with no documented service history is asking for trouble, unless you know the previous owner very well and there is some sort of a service history that could be patched together. These engines are said to be bullet proof, but not if they have been abused or badly maintained.

Too many variables on a car such as this: how would you be sure that the car was serviced on time, has the mileage been turned back, is the owner selling for some shady reason, etc.. I would rather buy the best possible example of a platform in my budget than the cheapest 'newer' model, to save myself from headaches later on.

They are only bullet proof if they are maintained very well. Incomplete service history would be a deal breaker for me.

Agree, you need maintenance records never mind service records to have confidence that the car is going to last. High KMs I have learnt over the years should not be a reason to not buy a car but the above 2 factors are key, with a missing service history I highly doubt there has been any maintenance done. Assuming it is the auto, that ZF gearbox had to be serviced at 100k and 180k as well... At 200k would need to have the box inspected to see what the future will hold.

I'm with everyone else: no history = run away

Too many guys buy cars and think "oh no its bulletproof... that means I can avoid servicing it and abuse it"
