AC Schnitzer mirror

Hi, I am new to this forum, I just got my E46 back from the panel beaters... I bought the car second-hand a while back with a full Schnitzer body conversion. I was side swiped by a taxi which left me without a left side mirror. It took the panel beaters 8 weeks to get a replacement mirror from Germany. To my disappointment I got my car back and the mirrors are not the same, even though they both have Schnitzer part numbers and logo etc...

My original mirror (right side) is more rounded and has a bigger gap between the mirror housing and the door, the 'new' mirror has sharp features and a smaller gap.

I have been told that 'maybe' the Schnitzer mirrors that were on my car when I bought it are pirate parts, can this be???

Welcome Huge. Have you got pictures? If there are legit part numbers on both mirrors, you can trace them.

Other thing is that the panel shop are obliged to give your car back EXACTLY as it was. It would be stupid to have non-matching mirrors. If they cannot source the right part, they replace both mirrors then.

You could also go to JSN motors to find out more, they are the suppliers of ASC bits here in SA (not that I am saying they are the only ones, but they are the only ones I know of)

Oh and welcome to the forum, also post some pics of your ride in the showroom section.
