A question on donuts

What size wheels do you have?

Also, are you (with the traction FULL off and not half off):

1. Depressing the clutch
2. Locking the steering either left or right
3. Building up the revs
4. LETTING THE CLUTCH GO AS FAST AS POSSIBLE

Note carefully on point 4 - if you feather the clutch, the car won't put down as much power in a sudden burst that will aid the breaking of traction.

Quick way to determine if it's the car or you, get your friend to try in your car and see whether he achieves a better result, then get him to show you what he did.

Side Note:

To all those lecturing this young guy about why he shouldn't spin his car - perhaps you should have a say on this matter only if you're paying for his clutch, tyres, etc. it's his car, his money, let him do as he wishes...

You know Fuzz,

We old toppies need to educate the youngsters, that's all it is dude.

Lets say something bad happens, What we gonna say then.

Rather try that shyt on a skid-pan with medics around.

No man, dont try and be a chop.. Only chops do stupid things to their beloved cars. And trust me dude, tires and cheap.

But if you really really want to, bring her to me and i will show that a 130i can be lots of fun going in circles.

On the Fanatics forum, there are numerous posts of behavior standards required, especially when attending Fanatics events.
For the sake of the forums "name" I don't feel this is the right place to give advice on what can be construed as damaging activities, or worse illegal activities.

is there not a "secret subsection somewhere" (that I haven't visited) where these sort of issues are secretly and without the "FANATIC's" official stamp of approval, discussed ?

Your 130i is an excellent platform to do what u need to do.... I'm shocked that it can't and a 320i can!!!

Try harder!

Lol Jerry, fair, though I still spin my E30, why? Because I enjoy it...

That being said, part of growing up means learning the hard way too. This isn't nanny fanatics after all.

Let the lad try it out for himself, I'm sure if he's clever enough to log on here and ask for advice, he's smart enough not to endanger others too.

This is more about a young man who wants to use his car as he sees fit. There's nothing wrong with that. If you can pay to play, there's no issue.

That being said, there's no mention of him and his mate doing this somewhere illegal, so I'm giving him advice on something that I have experience with. That's all there is to it.

Hey bud....follow what fuzz said you should be fine.
I had a 130 and it spun very easy. Very very easy

I would say find an empty open area away from civilisation so in the event that things go pear shaped nobody gets hurt. trust me when i say things can happen very quick and mistakes will be made. Just dont be around any or anyones property. There are plenty open areas that are around. Just look.

Your car...you paying for it. Your hard earned cash. Do what you want to enjoy it.

I do this every now and then it stops me from trying stupid stuff when im going about my day.

Good luck be safe

Like the guys said... grassy area wet grassy area even better, 5-5500 Rpm release clutch turn steering wheel in direction of choice and get your eyes bigger as the back of the car slowly and then suddenly swings around. keep foot on accelerator and you should get a couple of circles no problem.

On the other hand...E90 320i's can do donuts? Are you sure your friend has a 320i and not a 330i:fencelook:
