Will give a bash for the next tank.
Will also put some in the e36 next time I need to, it quickly puts it's nose up to bad fuel. But that may be many months still.

Hi guys, quick question on petrol and octane. Up to what octane is still save for my engine? I drive a 330i E90. Thanks in advance. :ty:

Your filler cap and the manual should both say something like "93,95,98 or higher..." that's what mine says. Europe gets 98 at the pumps and the performance figures are usually set using 98 fuel. As for the upper limit of octane rating... not too sure, but in a your engine, I don't think go far above 98 would be of any benefit anyway

its still rebranded 95 octane....:thumbdo:

Why would that be? They sell super high octane in the rest of the world at pumps?

this isnt the rest of the world... they sell their crap here and govt regulates the quality of fuel we get and the price we pay...

But petrol is cheaper at the coast and more expensive inland. So that is why I wanted to know where he is situated.

Yup, 95, just filled up now before tonights price hike. There's no price difference, it's the same R12.84 here in CPT as all other petrol.

So much for the big hype about it being 98, i guess i now need to go back and start begging BP's for their 98 race fuel again!
