Enjoying reading the updates on this build.

Years ago, my brother had an old F250 which he spent a few hours on bringing up to driveable condition again. Proper old school.

Looking forward to seeing it running again soon.

i like the F250's especially the High Boys.
but in general just a fan of the old F series Ford Pickups.

So if i have not mentioned before , this is actually my Wife's dream "Car" and i bought it for her.
so slowly the both of us with the help of the kids here and there we are getting it into the condition she wants.

Going through the Electricals, i decided to test on the Glow Plugs.

Having never worked on a diesel before i went to the Internet and friends asking about the testing of Glow plugs and testing the resistance was the way to test them.
I got my Multimeter out and tested on them and i got zero resistance on all six , i found it very odd that all six would be shot. never the less i called them dead.
I called around for prices on new ones and i got the price of R560-00 each . After getting of the phone with the parts store i immediately went to test them again.

After poking and prodding They all tested as open circuit again. i was not happy, while in there i tested a few other things and the readings didn't make sense. i grabbed by other multimeter and done some testing and the numbers came back right, i then decided to re test the Glow plugs.

Low and Behold they all tested Good.

Tested on my Multimeter (the first one i used) and its battery was flatt-ish , resulting in the poor readings.

Note:

Make sure your testing equipment batteries are charged/have enough power before testing.

Excuse the striped hardware, I will be replacing them with new fasteners.
Also this will all come off again when i do the body work, so this fixture is not permanent

So i was making a list of items i need to buy to start tying up loose ends, window winder mechanism, windscreen , shocks , tyres etc, all the big ticket items.

long story short i got in touch with a guy that had an abandon F100 project, so one thing lead to another.

so now i have 2 F100's - Perfect 🤦‍♂️

So enter Ruby.

so turns out 90% of the parts i need are in or on Ruby, plus some extra parts,
light lenses, hubs and discs badges, and then some.
So from here on out i will be taking all Ruby's panels and putting them on to Scarlet as they are nearly perfect, oh and did i mention i will be doing a cab swap too....

i do not have plans as yet for the remainder of the parts and the extra chassis, i am sure something will arise.o_O
