New motor and gearbox arrived (well new to me)
Windsor 302 with a 4 speed auto box, i am very glad i could source one as this was one of the motors these models came out with.

It will stand one side for now, now its time to clean up the chassis , get some new paint on there and spruce her up a bit

Nice motor Donovan.

The 302 make some decent jam Vs other engines of the era. As a comparison Chrysler had to use 392ci to make similar power to the Windsor.

I would very much recommend a small bump in CR if you are doing a refresh on the motor, iirc they had 9.5:1 stock. 10:1 helps the torque improve by a noticeable amount along with a small improvement in economy.

The only essential mod is the electronic distributor and a good ignition system. The OEM dizzy has points and condenser. They need to be fiddled with nearly every time you drive the car and replaced every other month. It's worse than having an Puerto Rican girlfriend. You will have to keep two sets spare in the car so you can change them out on the side of the road in the rain.

Otherwise keen to see more updates. You are making excellent progress so far. Keep up the good work.

thanks for the info there Missioner.

i will defiantly look at the increase of Compression, makes sense.
The motor has already has an electronic ignition upgrade done, i am very happy about that.

the biggest time consumer now is just sorting my work area out now, everything is down to spare parts and it can get untidy very quickly.

As much as i am itching just to get in and bolt the motor in , i need to take my time and concentrate on the smaller things that need to be done now rather than later. Make sure everything is 100%, alot of parts take a while to arrive, for example radial control arm bushes can take up to 12 weeks to arrive, and the list goes on, luckily there is a lot i can do in the mean time.

Now it is getting a proper engine, crazy how those cooling pathways were so blocked!

Coming along nicely, a lot of work has gone into that motor
