So I have had my 6 for nearly a year with no major issues. These are now starting to pop up...the car has had a full service history through all 400 000km I need to keep this up!

Can any one give me details of someone who will really take care of the car? There are some major issues I want to have addressed befor things get out of hand! I'm located in Johannesburg north.

Thanks

Try the German Workshop in Edenvale or Tune Tech if you're not going to a BMW dealer. And if you deal with Tune Tech, deal with Sean the owner only.

Ja so the last time Bolt (my 6) went to a BMW dealer to just have a head light issue checked I had to pay to have it towed to another mechanic who could actually work on the car without needing to plug it in! I live one block from BMW and I will never leave my car in their hands :nonono:

The dealers no longer have mechanics that know these cars.
All the old timers have either retired died or opened up their own shops.

It now falls in the ambit of the enthusiast or the old mechanics who have gone independent.

Lovely engines and hardy gearboxes.

Now I remember your car a few months ago it failed on the electronic ignition module and you had it repaired.

So you have the distributor sticking out the head...old type.

Where are you mate?

Rory Duncan in Midrand might be good.

Tune Tech is good but insanely busy and more concerned with newer cars.

What are the issues you're having?

So I think the car will go to Axis which is owned by a fanatic and literally 2km from my house!

The current issues are.
- oil leak for the engin bay. I'm going to have the underside steam cleaned so we can locate it easily.
- oil leak for the gear box.....:nonono: that is really worrying me!
- either the slave or master cylinder on the clutch is gone, But that means both should be replaced.
- the car is also lacking a good roar. Maybe just some tuning here and there to help that.

I'm really nervous regarding what this is going to cost me....but these things have to be done!
