Can't really comment on the 335i reliability issue, but sheesh, I had a tough time reading your post dude. What happened to good old english?

Good luck with your car woes. Speak to Twinz (forum member and 335 owner). He is quite clued up on those cars. Goch & Cooper in Brackenfell is quite good.

What's the mileage on your car? Not covered under Motorplan anymore? 335's aren't that old are they?

could we please either:

a) have an English only rule on this site or failing that,
b) have a rule that whatever language is used (I'm tri-lingual) that it is at least a recognized language and not one made up by 14 yr olds on mixit or even failing that,
c) have a special thread where guys like "Kid-Ears" and "SoStoopid328" can post to each other in whatever language they are attempting to bungle forward on??

At least that way the rest of us can be saved reading schlock like the crap above.... even Jacob Zuma's speeches suddenly seem to be well written

Nope - great mood today actually.. I just get really freaked out by people who can't communicate.. it's almost as if one of the first things we learnt to do post-ape era is being unlearnt at quite a rate...

I'm scared that one day I'm going to log on and out of 10 new posts for the day, 2 will be legible and the other 8 will be like "graaa ug rar blag grug" with pictures of guys clubbing their bimmers "cause it wont start"

although maybe that's a bit OTT

EDIT

har har har.. I can see it now... ss328's "how to put fuel in a car" thread :)

Thx jandre. I will PM the guy. We need more info... Model year/mods etc...The 335 is mainly plagued by fuel pump issues for some other that it should not be so woeful

N54 is plagued with various issues from fuel pumps, to injectors, to cams, to VANOS, to wastegate rattles, etc. There are loads more bulletins than this, these are off the top of my head & I have seen every single one of them on different cars. Some are lucky & don't get any of these issues.

I have had problems with high pressure pump, injectors so far --- crap quality IMHO -- Bosch products have gone downhill thats for sure!

Regards the turbos -- only people having problems are the ones who have no idea how to look after them - hot shutdown, cyclic overspeed, oil additives, low oil levels, etc etc

ther is an upgrade to the pump which solves the problems, but i still know of a few people who have replaced this a few times aswell.

Ok forgive me for my bad english, never knew some1 on a car forum would get so uptight about it, so sorry if it didnt meet your requirements. Was actually looking for guys who had the same issues, thanks Sherwin for your post. Well seems nobody here has any issues with their 335's. Dont worry wont be posting anymore on here so you can relax

It's under motorplan, all issues were fixed under motorplan. Trading car in for an M3, so im hoping it wont be as problematic

People tend to get cranky due to bad spelling and mixit type spelling.i agree that it does rather get irritating when people communicate in mixit language.Typos are no biggy, everybody does it.It happens often to me because i touch type and press the post button without reading my posts sometimes.but mixit lang is just plain horrible...just my 2c

Seems that you did get somewhat of a lemon car there. Don't worry, I had a lemon GTI last year. Hated every single moment of it.

with regards to your initial post, and the spelling, please do post again. The big thing on a forum like this is that, when you post, and it is readable, you WILL get a positive response, and maybe even a quick solution to a problem.

When the guys don't know what you are on about, they won't even bother reading the post, and useful information goes out the door.

Good luck with the trade in bud. Keep us posted.

Interesting read. I have also questioned numerous BMW technicians about the reliability of this motor due to me being interested in purchasing one.

Had a dummy 320d which cost R80k for all the various repairs (luckily under motorplan) and I am certainly not in the mood for a similar experience.

for me the N/A models still give fewer problems.

good luck with the trade and sorting out all the issues.

Im guttered. I just got myself a 2007 335i Coupe with 49000km on the clock. Got it in Sep this year and its been to the dealer under motorplan 7 times already. The constant engine fault - reduced power keeps coming up. To date, 2 ignition coils(cylinder 4 and 2) have been replaced, spark plugs and software upgrades to the engines cpu. As I type this, its sitting at the dealer for another engine fault.

Any idea of what the problem is? I think that the technicians at BMW just reset the fault after replacing the part highlighted as failed but dont go the extra mile to rectify the route cause? Im no mechanic, Im just guessing!

ANyway, help me if you can. If you have similar problems, let me know. How can I get this solved? Who can I send a mail to, besides the sexy chick at reception?

Im seriously thinking selling before the 100000km mark is reached....for obvious reasons and buying myself a cheapie bantam bakkie that for now is more reliable!!!!!

Been driving BMW's for the past 12 years. And Im afraid if I dont come right, this one will be the last. Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
