335 vs 435

Other than the obvious difference in the number of doors and size what major difference exists between these two cars? I'm trying to understand what the additional R100k is for.

I have not looked at it seriously but apparently the 435 is a more sports car orientated chassis and suspension...

That's what i keep hearing, but i can't seem to find a review that shows what difference this makes in the real world.
Some seem to think you get more standard features on the 4 series than on the 3 series, but i'm yet to find out what that is.
I'm trying to justify the additional 100k, because the difference in looks it to small for me.

With less power than the M135i :fencelook:

Even the M235 will be more powerful. Don't understand the thinking BMW was following here. Pay more for a car will less power??

Same as the old 3 series, that you got in 4 door and 2 door models... the coupe models with the 2 doors were always more expensive...

Thanks. I'm just trying to confirm if there's anything additional i get for the 100K other than 2 less doors.
Personally the e92 looked more different from the e90 than the f82 does from the f80. From the front it quite difficult to tell them apart.

It does come with a little more extra, but salesman told me that they made it a 4 series so they could actually make it cost more as it is 'higher'than the number 3 ;)

And 435 with the same age and mileage will probably be worth R100k less when it comes to re-sale!!

BMW coupe's and roadsters always tend to hold a marginal greater resale value than sedans

They used expensive light weight material so even though the power is is the same the 435 should have a slight advantage

I got some answers on my original question.
The difference in price is made up from standard features. For example
the following optional extras are standard on the 4 series:

SatNav
Xenon Headlights
Sunroof
Headlamp washer system
Rear View camera
etc.

So depending on the options you select the difference between the 335 and the 435 becomes less then R30k.

Rear-view camera is standard on the 335i.

Other than this, I optioned a 435i to the same spec as my 335i, and if I recall, it came to about R 75k more.

435 is an import... 335 locally produced + a coupe car always fetching more than its sedan counterpart (
applies to not just bmw
) + some options as std
