Yeah, I cant justify the R100K difference, also the "4" moniker adds to it a sense of superiority over the "3" range when in fact they are the same cars or indeed look so similar. I would justify the 4 moniker if the car had its own unique design language. Its just a way to justify charging a higher price, & even worse is the looks are really too similar to a 3 series, bar the lower roof. A lot of reviews have said its no longer a car to take by the scruff of the neck and hustle through a set of corners, as its more a comfortable GT cruiser. I feel the E92 was probably the pinnacle point of the 3series coupe, had a good balance between styling, drivability, cornering feel, practicality. The 4series probably does improve in a lot of areas of efficiency and comfort, but imho is a far too grown up a car, something for 45+ year olds, who will smile at the size of car as it something stately and comfortable. Biggest annoyance for me is the derived styling from the 3 and 5 series, basically the front of the 4series M-Sport has the same front bumper of the 5series M-Sport with the rest being F30. People will buy the 4 on its own just to have bragging rights that it is a "4" not a "3" but really the differences are marginal.
I still admire the E92 for its unique look over the E90, which is lacking between F30 and F32, and for me cant justify the price difference for a less doors, a lower roof and a stuck-on boomerang on the fender.
