Maljan said:When you think about it, just how many factories are producing these pumps? The OEM market is lucrative but the aftermarket thing probably not so much. High pressure fuel pumps are complicated pieces of kit. Tooling up for a potentially small market is a bit of a risk.
If the originals break at a prodigious rate, it does become worthwhile. I have a theory: if you want to know what breaks on a particular BMW (or any other car) just check what the aftermarket caters for. So, unless there is a huge market for 135i fuel pumps, you are looking at an original.
Having said that, the Chinese will copy and sell anything. What do you call a photocopier in China? The research and development office.

Goldwagen price is the same as BMW at 12k, and I'm considering a used model from IPC parts at 6K. They said I can return it if it does not work upon fitment. Is there any specific reason why I should stay away from the second hand part in this case? Finances are really tight at the moment and I would have to borrow the money in either event.
Appreciate you taking the time to read this.
Kind regards
