i have an 05 330i e90
and i'm looking to trade for a 335i
just want to switch to a turbo car

Hey bud, problem is you can't supercharge the E90 330i motor. I did some research on it a while back and guys trying couldn't get it right because of the valvetronic or something.

Next thing, your car is worth plus/minus R110-R115K, if you could supercharge it, that would cost at least R60K to do it properly, then you have a car which in theory has a value of R175K but in reality if you ever tried to sell it you'd get maybe R130K, but as I said from what I know you can't supercharge it so the above is just hypothetical.

The N54 is an amazing motor with so much tuning potential. The 330i motor is also sweet, I love it. My bro has a 330i cab, and I myself have a 335i N54, and eventhough my car sounds great with the mods I've done, when my brother is driving next to me and he opens up and pushes that NA straight six it sounds so special!

There is a massive difference in performance though. If you after performance and speed, get a 335i/135i and mod it! I love driving around and basically being able to give anything on the road a go! The other day a gent in a 997 Turbo had to push his car hard to get away from me on the highway.

The 330i is an amazing car and as I said the pureness of the NA straight six is very appealing. As an everyday car with great all round capabilities it is perfect, but if you want to have a car that is great all round and once modded, will basically run with most cars on the road, get a 335i/135i!

It is possible to supercharge there is a supercharged 330i in South africa in fact and it's quite special..

and around 440nm
on 0.4 bar boost
that being said it is incredibly expensive todo
hence i'm looking into an n54
with my current mods the car sits less than 1\4 car behind a bone stock 335i
but those n54's are incredible to tune and that's what i'm looking into
i try pretty much anything from the line and it's pretty hard to beat a 330i
but the raw power of a 335i is what i admire about that car.
still on the fence though i love my car and it's grown on me even more after the mods i've done

RGM did the car you guys are referring to, they actually have a sort of a package for the e90 330i which costs 95k :hammerhead: but it includes everything, supercharger kit, complete new mandrel bent exhaust system, ecu software upgrade, everything done by them, takes about a week or more not sure, and the gains are massive over 100kw gain :clapper:

Lol yor I enquired like 2 months ago maybe 3, and at the time it was 95k, gave me a whole break down in the quote also stating everything what was included

The t3 /t4 turbo kit is anothee option I've heard

Personally I think you will be better off selling your car and buying x35, you just going to throw R115k away! Yes u might be one of the few with a Supercharged 330, but then your car is still worth it's book value in standard form.

Plus it's nice getting a new car!!
