Just a query, but why does no one want to add the diesels to the equations :=):

I know they are more frugal than the Petrol derivatives hey :bravo:

Have you had a chance to take you 330i for some long distance open road driving?, if not you should, it will blow you mind.

My car a couple of weeks back, from Pretoria to ballito:

I had a trip from Jhb to Durb's, and I got 7.3L on mine... driving 120-130 the whole time. But I must say, the best cruising speed what I got was about 135km.h on the highway... the best I got 6.8l ... on a auto...:joy:

Well probably because this thread is about the petrol ones, as it is more surprising for it to be economical - whereas the diesel you kinda expect it to be.

Cool,

But it would depend entirely on your foot,
What I noticed was that the car would be considerably more fuel efficient when you also use the cruise control

That is very true.
I am not sure how much difference the cruise control makes, I did use the cruise control most of the time, but when I got into some really bad mist I turned it off, also did that when I got bored and there is lots of traffic, i used it 90% of the way if I where to take a guess.

Ok,

But is your Manual or Auto?

I would think that cruise control makes more of difference on Auto than on Manual

I ave 12-13 l/100 2002 auto. Best ever on tank 11.7l/100 according to OBC.

But that's mainly short distance stop go driving. In and around town haven't taken a long road trip yet but can't wait to see.

:pimp:
In town I am currently on 12.3l/100km, but then I must confess the last few days I was really flooring it, to test it after the work we did on it last friday. :mmm:
Normally I am between 11-11.5l/100km in town, so not to shabby. :thumb:
O yea, 325i manual 5 speed.

If you driving with cruise control in a Auto... it's still heavier than driving with cruise control... it made about 0.7L difference... on the long run that's a lot...
