Stephan has driven the car around today and he says it's 100%. The injector is still at Bosch so that he can get a report on it to send to the warranty peeps so they can pay out... I need a big tub of vaseline...

So I've had the car back now for three days, and it feels good to be in the driver's seat of this awesome car. I missed it!

Thats great news..., hopefully its the end of your issues and just enjoyment going forward.

I trust it will be bud, this car is such a pleasure to drive! I have picked up a slight knocking noise on the front suspension - I'll have to go over everything again tonight to be sure everything is tight.

So I finally fitted the msport wheels yesterday. I think it looks much better, or at the very least it's a step in the right direction :hurray:

And after

I think I should rather keep the other wheels to drive on while I refurb these Msport wheels...

Me too for some reason. Msport wheels are for sale. A set of ellipsoids came up that I'm getting Sunday!

I had those on my ex 323i.

In my opinion also also looks better than msport wheels. I prefer exclusive style wheels on exclusive models, and msport wheels on msport models.

Those are my other wheels that are in my garage currently. I don't mind what wheels are on what car as long as it looks good.

I like it, but it more common then your previous set.
You're right. And the 255's are super sticky, it has made the car less fun to drive actually. They would probably work well with software but currently the car feels too planted on the road.

Let's hold thumbs I get those Ellipsoids!

I still have my set of 162 ellipsoids if you don't come right.
Thanks Andy, I'll be in touch!
Happy Birthday bud!

Update time

As per above post, I got my roofracks from Rodga yesterday, I think they look good - I just need to save up for the bike carrier now. Also the channels on the racks are quite noisy on the highway, so I'm gonna go to Bruce Reyneke cycles later today to see if I can get the rubber strips that fit into the channels.

On to the pics

I also swopped back to the stock wheels as there is a set of Elipsoids I want. While changing the wheels I inspected the underside of the car and saw this. Lovely.

It has thrown a small amount of grease over time, I'm not gonna try to squeeze a bit if new grease in there at the risk of tearing the boot or getting contaminants in the cv.

I'll go to BMW to get a bolt to replace the one missing one, then clean up the CV's and the bolt plates and put loctite on the bolts to ensure they stay put.

Okay I went to BMW Menlyn during lunch and ordered the aero top covers for R135. Just have to wait 2 days as they're coming from PE. Only set in SA apparently so I consider myself lucky!

And I just realised I forgot to get the bolt for the sideshaft... :hammerhead:

Not sure how much of a difference that cover will make though.

Even if it only makes 20% difference it'll be worth it lol.

This morning when I got onto the highway I thought my wheel bearing was disintegrating or my tyre was delaminating :skit: I then accelerated up to 120km/h and then thought there was a jet flying overhead... Then I realised it was the roofracks :withStu:

I'm dead sure they'll solve the wind noise, you can actually feel the wind resonating with the roof bar when you place your hand on the bar.

So yeah last night my friend Jan's turbo went boom and so it was bimmer rescue team time.

I then found these monkeys next to the road

Just glad Jan and Jaco got home safely and with the car. The tow hitch popped out and hit the car with some force, just rotten luck.
