Probably worth changing that breather. Dealers don't change them ever. Just like the dealers don't change fuel filters due to them being 'lifetime' parts :RedNo:
Yeah I may as well change it out for a new one. Looking at what my oil and air filters looked like I think it is definitely due for a replacement.

Nice thread, well done on maintaining your BMW so well. :clapper:

Thanks for the kind words! I've always been a little extreme when it comes to maintaining my cars, sometimes I think I have a problem

Nope, it's not a problem, I call it passion..

Andy's 10ppm vs 50ppm vs 500ppm comment has me wondering, I've been using 10ppm in my Passat TDI for months now, and the car seems to be heavy on fuel.. :dizzy:

My 530d hates 10ppm. Heavy on fuel, more noisy. I run on 50ppm and a tank of 500ppm every few fill ups. She loves the 500ppm

I always used to run one tank 50ppm, one tank 500ppm in my Polo. I like the lubricity of the 500ppm for the injectors etc. My Polo also felt stronger with 500ppm and I got marginally better fuel consumption

I wouldn't worry too much about the breather. The E90 onwards uses the vortex type that doesn't get blocked. Check my thread and you will see what it looks like stripped. The E46 and E39 however with the loo type needs to either be changed or swapped out with the newer one.

Okay cool thanks! I still need to come let you drive my car. If feels pap to me. Maybe it's just be getting used to the power delivery, but I barely keep up with a G6 GTI. Don't know how I should fare against them stock?

The G6 isn't a Kia, the Mk7 is a Kia...

Update!

I washed the car yesterday. I then noticed that the rain and light sensor looks skew. So I opened the clamshell at the rearview mirror and had a look...

The rain sensor is stuck onto the windscreen using some kind of glue. Mine came loose.

So I put two small pieces of double-sided tape on the sensor and stuck it back onto the windscreen. The auto lights don't come on so quickly now, behaves like you expect it to. The rain sensor I'm not so sure of? I don't think it works :smashScreen:

And then I took some photos for instagram

And then I washed the wheels properly. But I was still too lazy to remove them to clean the barrels...

Looking good! Ready for the weekend

What is next on the "to do" list?

Yes it's ready for the weekend! I'm doing the 94.7 on Sunday so I won't be doing anything on the car.

Next on the to-do list is fit the 330d M-Sport springs I'm collecting from Ash this weekend

And then I need to do the Downpipe and center box delete. Then it's software time!
