Awesome enjoy every moment!! When the roads are a bit wet like tonight in Jozi the RWDs have all the fun!! :coolShake:
I took my friend for a spin last night in the rain and the car is a hoot! Traction control is very good, if anything a bit harsh if you really go hard into 2nd gear. I drive like a granny 99.5% of the time, but I always drive my cars a little hard in the first week of ownership. Dusting away the cobwebs if you will

Welcome! these diesels are nothing short of awesome :clapper:
I was nearly settled on a 320d, and then this rolled along. So far I'm very happy with the car!

Welcome Martin, and congrats on the 330d!
Enjoy all that tar stretching torque!
Thanks buddy, I really think I'll be owning this car for a long while. It is a complete package!

You will enjoy and love the car the more you mod it
Add to your list
CDV delete
EGR Delete
Software
N54 intercooler
Diesel filter replace (dealers never do this)
Many Many smiles :cartel:
Pardon the ignorance, but what is the CDV? Does this car have an anti-shudder valve which forms part of the EGR? Software will be on the cards courtesy of Wulfchiptegnik. How much larger is the N54 intercooler and is it a straight bolt-on? Where is the diesel filter located - on the VAG cars everything is pretty legible in comparison lol.
The dealership did service the car before I took delivery, the car has new disks all-round as well which gives me some peace of mind. I am sure they put Castrol oil in the car though, so that crap needs to be replaced asap with some Motul/SHell Helix. What standard of oil should I use? 505.01? Also, how many liters does this mammoth engine take?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm a noob at BMW's

Speak to Alistair at XFlow - 0824174480. Get them to do a Downpipe for you. This will remove the DPF.
I would however get an oil change and filters done first as safety measure. Thereafter check the Crankshaft Damper. Get those out the way they begin the modding with Downpipe and Software. Instant win!
Good stuff! I'll be replacing the oil with something I trust (Motul or Shell Helix). What grade and what specification should I get?
I'll speak to Alistair - any idea of roughly what it will cost? The crankshaft dampener - how do I check it. Do I remove the belts and check if there is play on the pulley by hand?
