328i e36 jerky

Hi Beemer lovers,

I have a problem with my 328i (e36), the car idling is not constant and the car jerks below 2000 rpm, therefore in traffic it is a real mission to drive smoothly.

I have modified the car, it has cams, branch, freeflow and chip.

I have changed fuel filter, spark plugs and did a full oil service, but the "jerk" is still present.

Any advice on what it could be?

I have a e36 325i, and my car has a small jerk/power loss just around 3000revs, accept when I accelerate hard through the gears... Haven't got a clue...

:thinking: who did the mods....without seeing the car - it sounds like electrical. have the chip u put in checked first - thats easy, then work back - have you checked all the plugs for spark, on that note have you ever changed the cables ?

My bet will be on idling control valve, air flow meter or lambda sensors if your car is post 1996

hey bud!
does the jerk appear to be electric? like the motor missfiring and cutting out?
or does it still sound normal when pulling away? just with the addition of the jerking?

if its the first: check afm, coils, corrosion on injector harnass and the crank sensor.
if its the latter: i would suggest you check the engine and gearbox mountings.

I replaced clutch and flywheel about six months back, do not think its the clutch

Flywheel was R10K from "stealers", they are ridiculous.

Think it the Injectors or the coils.
