Wow, I leave for an hour and this all happenned. So the Scirocco has the new 155kW TSi engine, (turbocharged only) which is not the same as the Golf 5 GTI? But the original Scirocco had the Golf 5 GTI engine?

Anyways, I do not want to go darkside (Audi :mmm: ) and I don't like the styling of the Cupra (although it is an awesome car). And the 135i is in a different league, both performance and price-wise. Second-hand it costs the same as a new Scirocco.

@Mike: Thanks for the objective advice, even though your info on the TSi engine was a little wrong . If I keep on struggling with VW I'll give you a shout. Fortunately there's quite a few dealers in Pretoria East.

Update: Just came back from Menlyn Auto (BMW dealership). They only had a second-hand pre-facelift 325i that I could test drive. It had about 15k km on the clock. I wasn't impressed at all. The engine is a screamer and sounds awesome above 5000rpm, but it doesn't perform. All show and no go. I'll go through Auto Trader this weekend and look at what second hand BMW's are available. But I think I'm gonna go for the Scirocco. :mmm:
