dont spend anymore money on it, you about to trade it in.

:) Thats why I said we will never know. It will be one of those things I will contemplate and wonder about when I am driving my M6 in a few years.

Hello All,

Just a little update on my current consumption:

Spirited driving in town: 15l/100km
Normal driving in town traffic: 12l/100km
Open road highway driving: 8l/100km
Mixed consumption: 11.1l/100km

At the moment I'm managing to keep the car at around 11l/100km. With about 50/50 town and highway.

I am planning to trade the car in, so I won't be doing any more effort to reduce my consumption figures. Ultimately, it has forced me to swop the car for another BMW.

Beware when purchasing an E90 320i. Consumption is high and performance is lacking. :)

For comparison sakes, and to give you an idea.

I filled up yesterday; got 850km on a tank of diesel with 100% town driving. Filled up 60liters. So thats 7.06liter per 100km

Hwzit guys. I bought a 2006 Bmw 320i E90 Msport. I am not very happy with the consumption as far as power its fine since i dont race around town even though considering boys my age race these cars.

Fuel consumption is very bad i was getting around 12.5 in town since i only do town runs. I replaced the Maf sensor /Airflow meter and saw a big difference im down to 10.4/10.8 and 8.1/7.5 highway. medium driving & its a manual. I also registered the battery at Bmw that also helped with the consumption alot. Service has been done my self. I will also be changing the Plugs with original bosch plugs.

I was desperately in need off a car thats why i took the 320i. I wantes the 320d since i owned a diesel bakkie and loved a diesel vehicle. But since i am hearing about the bmw 320d turbo problem and price to fix i am happy with the 320i and bad consumption. Also i advice to reset your consumption only when on the freeway not in town because it will give a wrong reading. Reset and take it for 30km drive then drive in town and will see what a difference. The consumption will adapt properly and slowly after 30km long high way drive. Do this every time you reset it. Also do all services new coolant, new oil, new plugs, new airfilter, put some fuel additive

Thank you for your comment Ahmed!

What did you pay to get those sensors replaced?

Also, taking a highway drive after resetting the device or resetting on the highway only makes a difference on what the OBD reads. Your actual real-world fuel consumption should be exactly the same as before when you drive in town again.
