if... IF there was a 115KW version 320d motor then it must have been a SA special again as I can not find anything about such an engine

However.... it would explain WHY some 120KW engines are down on power!
Trust me I did make sure I have the right software and ECU ID came clearly up with 120KW M47TU2D20 engine!

Any ideas?
2008 320d Stock.
I believe it to be the 130kw? or could it be the 115kw?

Diesels are very easy cars to extract quick power out of it.

Mapping the car would be the first step. Be sure to choose the right tuner , many tuners just up boost to make customers see big number on a dyno but little does the customer know. I would suggest Xcede Performance , they have done a helva lot of these cars. My E90 330d mapped about two years ago shows testiment to these guys work. Car is mad fast but more importantly very reliable.

Second step would be downpipe cause you upping boost and making the turbo work harder with the chip. Exhaust gas temperatures will definetly be going up like crazy. Eazy fix to this will be the addition of a downpipe. Dont waste you money doing decat it will not make sense as the flow rate will remain the same. With downpipe the spool on the turbo will be a whole lot quicker as opposed to just decat. In a nutshell quicker spool = quicker response when you hit the trottle

If you really want to go big , you can spend money on a bigger intercooler , water meth , bigger turbo but to be honest rather save that money and invest in a 330d

Hope this helps

IMO tuners should be giving advise on this forum , not saying come to us we can do XXX and XXX. If sales is needed so badly , it should clearly make one think.

Show us your cars numbers ///Shaun.... "mad fast" is relative!

Must do some homework mate.

1 ) E90 MSport 330d - 200wkw with 666nm done at KAR and WRC Dyno (noted as JHBs realistic dyno by many , not a happy dyno).

2) 13.8sec at Tarlton and ODI on 19inch street tyres = fastest 3 series Diesel in the country, done almost two years ago already and that was with my old setup.(software and downpipe)

Not in for a dick measuring contest but those that know me will know i say it as it is. I do have a much much faster car and i kinda know not to use the word "fast" loosely.

Im always up for a race and numbers to me mean jack , its how you put the power down. Bring any Diesel *nudge-nudge* and we can go for friendly. Dyno numbers are just that , dyno numbers. Its on the road where it counts.

My car was seen in action at the last BMW Fanatics ODI track day , many from here will possibly remember some of the bigger cars it beat.

Heres a video to illustrate how the power is put down. Take note of the one car gap lead i give to the opponent , then notice the two car gap it gets , done with more than one of these modded STs that make over 200wkw

Agree in general. especially on the dyno number part.
Yet if WE publish numbers you can be rest asured that these numbers are based on long and extensive development with hours and hours of work and brain grease going into what we do!

More over, WE can repeat what we claim and its not a once off lucky hit on a "happy dyno" as you call it!

Coming back to the original thread, the 180kw / 500Nm for a 320d is what we offer on the full package as described in post #4 where our normal "come and get it" 150kw / 440Nm budget package is affortable.

Reliability one can not buy in a sachet and you can't add it to a mod as if you add a sachet of sugar to your coffee!
Again it boils down to development and experience and THERE my friend we are to be challenged

Actually, I fail to understand the argument:

330d 200kw / 666nm v 320d 180kw 500nm

My posts were not aimed at you or the company you work for.

It was general statements made for tuners to offer advise instead of selling products.

Came across this old post, if I just do downpipe will there be gains on the 320d 130kw version. I was thinking down pipe, and full exhaust?

5hp is nothing :(
waste of time and money so if I wana spice it up slightly and not change the intercooler, and keep it reliable, what are my options
Or should rather stay stock?

I'm also quite interested in doing a downpipe when I get my 320d. Is there a significant difference in whether the car is manual or automatic, concerning these performance upgrades?
