320d Performance Mods

I read on a few forums that the 320d auto box can handle 400nm so if i remap and it goes above that will it damage the gearbox

This is dependant on a few things, how often would the car see above 400nm? Some tuners adjust the amount of torque according to the gear?
Current condition of the gearbox would factor in.

In other words, if you have a bad tuner and you drive hard all the time, it will break even if under 400nm. It could break with the stock map too. Depending on mileage i would consider servicing the gearbox in any event.

I am not aware of an upgrade though, I though you had information of an upgrade.

O sorry no i thought you could upgrade but i want to do remap with Xcede so just wanted to find out about the gearbox my car is on 141000 km have had no problems with it only one back LED light was off had replaced it in motorplan. my cousin is the parts manager at bedfordview bmw so he always helps me with services.

That the car to ZF and they will be able to check the box and see if it's happy and serviceable.

BMW's own ecu/Intercooler etc upgrade that doesn't affect motorplan sees torque on the 320d upped to 420nm. So I doubt the auto gearbox would not be able to handle the torque.

I would be interested to know if the 320d and 330d run different gearboxes?

It should be different as the torque limit on the 330d is 700nm iirc

I want to find out have any of you guys do a 1/4 mile with a bmw 320d e90 and if you did what was stock times and with software and downpipe what can i expect? stock claimed times i see are 15.1 for 181bhp car.
