hi Guys

so here is my dilemma

on saturday afternoon when i git home from work i noticed smoke coming from under the bonnet when i open up to check i could not see much due to the engine covers.when i stepped back i noticed something dripping out at the bottom of the car.My first thourght was that it was brake fluid as it was dripping in the region where the brake fluid bottle is.But with closer inspection i realised it was diesel running out.At this point i waited for the car to cool down and i stripped off the engine covers only to discover that the area where the injectors are is covered in diesel. The car has been standing since then. Can anyone shed some light as to what the problem may be.thanks in advance for any and all assistance

Hey bud

Which 320d do you have?

About a month ago, My F30 320d developed a leak from one of the fuel lines. The car is under motorplan so BMW replaced it.

You could have the same issue.

Hi
Got exactly the same issue ,just had my turbo serviced & discovered that it seems as if the small black tubes on the injector lines are perished ,they are insulated with a material mesh
I'm also in the southern suburbs cape town
I intend taking the car to Reynolds BMW Retreat rd after work to confirm & hopefully replace ,
will let you know what happens

At the tops of your injectors there is a thin black fuel line, its either 3.5mm or 4mm in diameter. You can get it at most part shops as its regular braided fuel hose that costs like R35 per meter. You will need 2.5 meters max, start by replacing the pieces between the injectors. At the first injector there will be a long pipe that runs to the fuel line just under the intake manifold, replace that piece as well. Quick job no longer than 45min.

so just to give some feedback on this matter it turned out not be the rubber fuel lines that were damaged.

according to the mechanic it was the high preassure fuel line by injector number 4 that had a small hole in it(it looks like a ``u`` shaped metal pipe)so all fixed now and car running well now
