The LCI looks amazing.
320 diesels have a reputation but is it worth the price tag.

If in the market for a brand new car in this segment then yes as a new Mercedes C Class and Audi A4 are in the same price range.

Personally I doubt I will ever buy brand new as I would rather spend similar money on a used vehicle that offers much more bang for your buck for example I would spend this sort of money on a G20 330d if I could find one or G01 X3 30d and still have change.

Correct, I agree 100% with you. I almost bought a ‘21 M340i for similar money earlier this year.

Over R1m for a modestly powered compact executive car is eye watering...

Weren't 520ds trading at that price a year ago?

The prices of new cars are ridiculous!! I wonder if the lack of G-Series 3's on our roads are as a result of the new car prices or perhaps lack of availability or are they perhaps just not in demand (I doubt this to be the reason though)???

The X3 is cannabalising the 3 series sales. The average, well to-do, SA family wants more interior space and ground clearance. Also, the X3 is made in SA while the 3 is fully imported from Mexico.

I can attest to this. I see so many new LCi X3s everyday. Some of them are even 30d 🤤
