320d E46

Hi guys

A friend of mine wants to get a 320d E46 AUTO, around 100k to 120k mileage...

How are these cars 2nd hand?
Any issues one needs to look out for or worry about in the near future?

If it is a 2004 or 2005, it might not be too bad, but I would MUCH rather get a 2004/2005 6-speed manual 330d, or actually any manual 330d. (I have a car with the automatic that comes in those - they don't last forever)

agreed.. imho, the last of the e46 330d/6sp manuals was the the best of the e46 diesels.. but then again i just might be biased
