Let's hope we're safe from that for a long time.
Is there a big difference between gutting the dpf Vs building a completely new DP?

To be honest I'm not sure. A complete downpipe is better I believe, but can't tell you what the diffirence in performance will be with those 2 options. But the downpipe should be better

No there isn't much difference on a diesel.

Thx Sherwin.
That's interesting. Can the dpf internals be removed in such a way that it can be restored if at a later stage I wish to return to stock & re-enable the dpf regency?

I don't think it can be done. Not sure. But if you look at how they cut that thing and weld it back, I won't do it. Rather pay the 2.5k and get a proper DP down than paying 800bucks.
Then you will still be able to put your stock cat back when needed. Or keep it till someone needs one.

Just make sure the place cut it nicely so that you can put it back later.

That's gonna' be extremely difficult, you will need a very talented welder.

Thanks for the input guys.

I got my dp/decat sorted yesterday at Rogue Performance. Dwayne and his team did an awesome job on the dp.

Sound on start-up is more or less the same. When you rev it a little bit, you can hear the turbo spool. When you gun it a bit you can hear the sound changed. Sounds much better.

Really impressed with Dwayne's work!

Can't load pics so if someone will help me just send me a pm with your number.

It definitely spools quicker. Thats the first thing I realised.

There's definitely a difference! Power is there right away when you need to floor it :praise:

Car pulls really strong and surprises alot of people :coolShake:

@Cornel: That looks pretty good. Congrats buddy.
I don't see any sensors on it...is the E90 different to the F30 in terms of the dpf sensors?
How much did they charge you for it?

Yes there is no sensors on it.
I paid R3300 for it. Took a day.

Hi Guys

I need some advice on downpipe/decat for my 320d.

What size is the best to go for?

What places will you recommend to use?

Thanks

I Went with a 63mm on my 2013 120d. Its crazy loud with just a downpipe. The 120d's back box is extremely small, almost smaller than the DPF, and stock it only has a dpf and the back box. However, when you cruise you dont hear it, it's only there when you put your foot down.

My first impressions after doing it was - car pulls smoother and stronger when you put your foot down from 40kp/h. It also pulls alot stronger on top! :praise:

I had the stage 2 file done 2 weeks before doing the downpipe so that I could actually feel the real diffirence in power/ power delivery of the downpipe. Lighter on diesel also when cruising :cartel:

@Morras12: Car looks sweet. I see your car made 145kw on stage 1 map. What power did it make with stage 2 map and DP?

Thanks man:praise:

Car actually made 166.3 kw and 469nm with stage 1 (Have the dyno sheet) just before I went stage 2. I havent dyno'd the car again after that but we aiming for 175kw and round about 490nm - yet to be proven.

Will update my thread once I dyno it :)

That is mad power you aiming for and it will be so enjoyable!!!

You have the 8 speed box i assume and I am not too clued up on it and torque limit but when i did the aggressive file on my 320d...no hardware at all...I got 179kw/501nm on the flywheel easy however the gearbox gave in within 3 months afterwards as it battered the gearbox. I lost 2nd & 3rd on the autobox, car sounded like it was trying to a be a DSG :roflol:

Just double check the rating, however your car is looking the part and with that power...IMO it is a complete package with looks, power & economy....i Envy you!!!!

:roflol:

Enjoy bro!

Haha shot man... and yes I do. The new gearboxes are strong as far as I know. And I think Keithan from RK can confirm this because the 120d they did makes alot more power and nothing has happened yet, I think? :tiptoe:

But ya, I'm not planning on making more than 500nm in this car anyway. I will leave that for my next cat :crazylaugh:
