R55k. Dang. No offence, but youd have to find a real idiot to buy the car at that price.

As Malcom said, you can get pre facelift e46's for that money.

I suggest you lower your asking price to R40k. then you will probably get a few more calls.

The 318is is a cool car, but this offers nothing extra. No sunroof, No Motorsport bodykit, No Freeflow = No Sale.

Not trying to put you off, just being honest. We dont lollygag ( haha what a funny word, lollygag ) or sugarcoat anything on this forum. If we believe something may be strange or off, we will let you know.

So remember, all these guys statements are for your best interest. Lower the price, and provided that the car is genuine, you will get some money for it, or else youre gonna have it for a long time.

I wonder, Why would the clutch need replacing after only 150k km, unless the car was driven hard and incorrectly. I know that clutches, like every other part have a life span, but this seems strange. Just putting it out there. Maybe the other e36 318i drivers can comment. I accept that if I am wrong, then I am wrong and will learn from my mistakes.

The previous owner's wife burned the clutch by towing a deep sea boat. but since then the tow-bar has been removed. I would go as low as 45k for the car.

If you feel the car is worth that much to you then rather keep it my friend, I have seen clean 328's go for that money.

For R5k more you could even get a convertable not too mention E39's which is MUCH better spec'd.

Honestly speaking even 45K is asking for too much :nono: unless if it's a 99" spec with side airbags :thinker:

I was offered a 98" 318is MK2 with 200K on the clock for R45K

I did my maths homework and like OGE34 said, picked up a clean 328i for less :)

The e36 318is is an awesome car. No denying that.

great all rounder. Though this car is not worth R45k. Sure, Advertise it at that price. If you get a buyer then congrats. If not, try lowering the price. Might just get you free of the car.

you could keep it and mod it. Motorsport kit, Lowered suspension, Nice rims, kick ass soound system, Free flow with branches. The car will run well against 6 cylinders, and will still be fairly decent on the economy side.

I believe that a good e36 will last forever. My buddys 98 318is ran for 350k km before he decided to overhaul. And that was by choice no necessity. The car could have gone for many many more kms.

just some food for thought.

Any rust around front windscreen , rear screen , below bootlid ?
Have seen e36 bodies on Gumtree for R5000-10000 with stuffed motors - OBC is 11 button , diff is most likely 3.46 , gearbox clutch etc would have to be changed if fitting 325 or 328 motor .
