yip
so i wanted to know if i was not going to do it through Bmw who was going to pay for the quotation.?

also i found out that only Bmw can supply the glass on the E90 onwards
webasto no one could help due to the glass having some bend and size.

i also told my wife the same
but there was no rocks or big stones found
bmw says the car roof has 4 slight stone chips so it was definetly a stone.

This happened to my friends neighbor on his E90. He got it replaced at Webasto in Benoni, he paid just over R2000.

He did it cash because it worked out cheaper than the insurance access.

Did you specify the sunroof in your insurance.

I know some of this companies are really touchy about this and they will say that you did not say you had a sunroof

I supposed in most cases you had to take it for inspection

Webasto Benoni and IS motorsport said they dont do E90 bmw's
all i stated was its a 325I e90 msport pack.

its actually crap that motorplan wont pay how can they prove that from those stone chips your sunroof cracked a friend of mine had a 330i sportpack and his sunroof also cracked but glass scratched the roof as he was driving and motorplan paid for sunroof and to spray his roof again..

Hi guys

My sunroof on my E46 Burst whuile I was driving. A truck was driving in front of me and I think a stone came from the wheels or something. Sounded like a bomb went off in the car. It looked like someone hit it with something from the inside :argh:

It was tilted up when all of the sudden it burst.

BMW won't hear none of it, sent me straight to insurance.

I'm having a custom glass made for it. I just think that R6900 excl. Vat and installation for glass is excessive. :argh: Will let u know how much it comes to etc.

IS Motorsport and Webasto, as well as a couple of other places can't help me. They can apparently only do straight glass?

Tried doing the Perspex thing just to see... didn't work.

Insurance excess is R2500. The glass is gonna cost me less I'm sure.








I'll post a pic of the new glass in place when it's done. :thumbs:

Maybe a good idea to have Smash and Grab fitted for the future on the sunroof?

The entire roof on the Smart is glass and I am considering it not just from a safety aspect but because it will add that extra protection to the glass.
