Might be something to compete with the Audi A5 Sportback, looking at the slope of the rear roofline? But then the roof is very raised by the front driver and passenger, and you can judge by the gap between the drivers head and roof in the photos. Looks rather innocuous and awkward imho.

Does look more car-like than SUV-like which the 5Ser GT is?

I think they should have rather made an estate/touring version instead of this thing...

Actually looks better to me in those shots. Saw it on WCF this morning and thought, "they might be on to something". Will reserve judgment until I see it without camo. People were even slamming the F30 before the final reveal and it looks soooooooo much different than with the camo on

As per Wheels 24,

SPIED: BMW 3 Series GT
2012-08-17 09:04

REVEALING MORE: The new BMW 3 Series is sporting a two-tier rear hatch design, sporty alloy rims and short overhangs in these the most recent spy shots of the car.

Previous shots of the BMW 3 Sseries GT showed a lot less detail that these the most recent images of the car we’ve received.

In these you’re able to see short overhangs, pumped fenders and sporty alloy wheels. It will also feature the same raised seating position and ride height of as the bigger 5 Series GT and has adopted a two tier rear hatch design.

The cars 'coupe' characteristics are obvious, as seen in the X6 and 5 Series GT. This new design will rival the likes of the Audi’s A4 Avant and Q3 SUV.

The unveiling of the car will be at the Paris auto show in September.

Too many unnecessary models - going to loose their identity just like Audi with their all the same looking models... :nonono:

Fugly :thumbdo:

BMW are making some really bad looking rides.
I didn't buy th new 125i hatch for that reason.
I am sure they drive well though.

They need a new designer.
