2dce - valvetronic issue

Okay I hate my 335i!

I used this car once in a while and just got her back from BMW after a radiator leak. So enjoying her on Saturday night (mixed driving), I get home and I rev her (as always) to hear those fire crackers from the exhaust. The car revved slowly and went into limp mode. I checked the code on my JB, it throws out the code 2dce.

I mixed this up with the catless code 2ced and try to erase - but it reappeared same time.
Only after switching the car off and restarting did the code disappear.

I researched and found this was a vanos issue and read about vanos bolts breaking in the engine. I idle the car to see if there was any chance the vanos bolts got sheered but no rattles in the engine.

Took he car for a small drive say 5km yesterday and all seems ok, but still worried as codes don't come on for nothing. Not sure If I need to dump this car as it seems vanos can be a very costly affair, also agents tend to just throw parts at your expense.

Anybody here had vanos issues?

Any recommendations on what to do?

You can 'dump' it at my house :smilebounce:

Could be broken bolts, needs reprogramming of software or the actuator is having some trouble.

Hope you get sorted soon

Update.

I've brought my 335 to work this morning - no codes at all I'm hoping it stays this way but these may come up at the most inconvenient time.

HAs nobody had here this code on their cars?

If it were the broken bolts the error would have been consistent.

I'm hoping its not the actuator:tiptoe:
